Call for meet-up photos

posted by roderick in Updates - permalink

Hey all,

It was good to put names to the URLs that I've been looking at. I apologize for not being able to stay for as long as I would like to, but for the time I was there it was a lot of fun. As per everyone's enthusiasm about Flickr, I'm going to start up a Chicago photoblogs Flickr account. I've never used Flickr before, but I'd like to get a photostream up on this site. If you took some shots from the meet-up, send some to chicagophotoblogs@gmail.com and I'll get a Flickr photostream up and running this week.

And thank you to Nick, for setting all of this up! We'll buy you some drinks...er...non-alcoholic, of course.

Thank you and continual improvements

posted by roderick in Updates - permalink

First of all, I'd like to thank Chicagoist, Gapers Block, and Chicago Metblog for putting our name out there for Chicago bloggers to see. Their help was instrumental in helping us get our feet off the ground.

For those of you who are on our ever-growing photoblogroll, please remember to provide some link back to us! Use the provided button there in the sidebar and make sure it links back to us. Help spread the word! Tell your friends, Romans, and countrymen!

Here are some things that are going on behind the scenes:

- I've added horizontal rules to appear below each comment. It makes it a lot easier to read them.

- I'm going to continuously add links to the sidebar to Chicago photography resources. Things that I have in mind include camera shops, photography groups, cool places to shoot, and anything else related to Chicago and photography. If there is a link you'd like to see up there, send an email to chicagophotoblogs@gmail.com

- The photoblog is in the works. I've already received submissions and will put those up as soon as I get the photoblog up and running.

- Speaking of submissions, if you're interested in being a contributor to the blog send an e-mail asking to be one! I've already sent invitations to people who want to contribute, so don't be shy!

- Remember to email Nick [ nfeder@gmail.com ] to tell him if you're interested in attending a Chicago photobloggers get together, which looks to happen sometime around the middle of January of the new year.

Happy Photoblogging,

I'm Late I'm Late I'm Late!

Okay -- I'm like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland - I know -- I'm late! I swear, I am NOT a procrastinator! I've just been swamped with life's little wonderments.

So -- I've sent out invitations to a handful of people who expressed interest in getting this thing started. Rod submitted the following logo suggestion for our site -- I like it -- what do you think? We're open to any, and all, ideas! Most importantly, I'd like to get this thing rolling!

Here's the logo:

Lemme know your thoughts. My email address is me@notraces.com.

I promise -- I won't go back down the rabbit hole! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Weekend!

Chicagoland Photobloggers will be online soon!

posted by Bob Smith in Updates - permalink

Hi everyone! I'm very happy to announce the creation of the Chicagoland Photobloggers site. I'll be working with a number of people to bring the site up -- it's a work in progress, so bear with us.

For now, I'd like to invite anyone living in, and around, Chicago to join by sending me an email. All you have to do is click on the 'email me' link - and you'll know what to do from there.

I see this site as a collaborative effort between all Chicagoland Photobloggers. This is OUR site to share ideas and information. We're also part of the Photoblogs.org community -- a great place to be.

So -- I welcome everyone, and I look forward to creating a wonderful Chicago based site for the world to see!

Bob Smith
